Gypsum Daze 5K Run & Walk
The Gypsum Daze 5K Run and Walk is a long-running community event in Gypsum, presented as a 31 year tradition. The course is a marked loop that starts and finishes at the corner of Valley Road and Lundgren Boulevard, beneath the Gypsum Daze Arch.
Entrants receive a swag bag that includes a Gypsum Daze logo'd running belt and other items. All participants receive a hat, and all finishers are eligible for a prize drawing; winners must be present to claim drawing prizes. Bib numbers are distributed the morning of the event at the tent next to the start; there is no early bib pickup.
The route is staffed and marked throughout. There are no water or aid stations on course, but water and light snacks are provided at the finish. Giveaways and prizes are available for participants, and awards are presented for overall male and female first through third places as well as by age category. Age categories include 18 and under, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over.
Age group and overall winners are posted once results are complete. Ribbons and plaques not collected on the day of the awards can be picked up at Town Hall from July 20 to July 24 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
