Arrowhead Half Marathon and 5K
The Arrowhead event on August 22, 2026 takes place in Arrowhead and uses trails across Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, and Beaver Creek ski areas. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon - 13.3 miles (21.4K), 2,844 ft elevation gain
- 5K - 5.6K, mostly downhill with 223 ft elevation gain
The Half Marathon route includes an additional half mile added to the first ascent for 2026 and reaches a high point near 9,560 ft. The course follows single track and dirt or gravel roads (roughly 78 to 80 percent single track). Runners pass through aspen groves, climb the Quiver trail to the summit of Bachelor Gulch Mountain, and return via Arrowhead Mountain Trail and the Apache, Ute, and Dakota trails.
Aid and on-course services differ by distance. The Half Marathon provides multiple aid station accesses during the route with water, Skratch Labs hydration, and snacks. The 5K has no aid stations on course but water is available at the start and finish. The event emphasizes minimal waste practices and provides race shirts and postrace food including donuts and fruit.
Logistics include shuttle service from Berry Creek Middle School to the start areas, parking at Berry Creek Middle School and Red Canyon High School, on-site bib pickup at Berry Creek Middle School, and awards by age group for both distances.
