GWTC 5K for Sickle Cell Anemia & Tim Simpkins 1 Mile
The event takes place on 09/12/2026 in Tallahassee at 801 Bragg Drive. The course passes through the historic Jake Gaither Neighborhood.
Distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The 5K includes a team racing competition with five team divisions: Men's, Women's, Co-ed, Middle School, and Elementary. Each runner may compete in only one team division; this restriction does not affect individual competition or individual awards.
Open Men's and Open Women's teams must have four to five runners. There is no age restriction for open teams and youth may compete on open teams.
Co-ed teams must have four to five runners and must include at least two males and at least two females. Legal gender combinations include MMFF, MMMFF, and MMFFF. Rosters with a 3-1 gender split are not valid for co-ed scoring.
Youth divisions (Middle School and Elementary) require a minimum of four runners and have no maximum roster size. Youth team members must attend the school or compete on the school team.
Team scoring in all divisions is based on the total finish time of the top four runners. Additional runners are not included in the team time. Teams with fewer than four runners are not valid; co-ed rosters with only one male or only one female are not valid.
Teams may be changed, joined, or created until the day before the race; rosters are finalized at midnight before the race.
There are team-only awards for the top team in each division, in addition to individual overall and age-group awards.
