GV Last Man Standing, Shepparton, Australia
GV Last Man Standing is a Backyard Ultra event scheduled for September 12, 2026 in Shepparton. The course runs near Tom Collins Drive and includes sections around a lake and botanical gardens. Registration closes Tue, Sep 8 @ 11:59 PM AET.
The majority of the route is paved, on bitumen and concrete. Short sections at the lake and in the botanical gardens are gravel, with a compacted surface made up of fine and coarse gravel topping. Specialized shoes for very muddy or slippery terrain are not expected to be necessary, though some competitors may choose to use them.
The course will be marked with small laminated markers placed on existing infrastructure at major turning points. These markers will not be illuminated at night. Organizers describe the loop as straightforward, and runners should be familiar with the route by the time it gets dark.
Under Backyard Ultra rules, no aid is allowed on course. The only compulsory item listed is a head torch. Rainproof clothing is recommended because weather in September can vary, but it is not compulsory. Running poles and pacers are not permitted while on course; the race director has discretion regarding enforcement when the course is a public path and other users are present.
