GV Last Man Standing in Shepparton, Australia
GV Last Man Standing is a Backyard Ultra held in Shepparton, Australia on September 12, 2026. Registration for the event closes on Tue, Sep 8 at 11:59 PM AET.
The course is mostly paved with bitumen and concrete. There are sections at the lake and in the botanical gardens that are gravel. The gravel is described as a compacted surface with a mix of fine and coarse topping, so very muddy or specialised trail shoes are not required.
Small laminated markers will be placed on existing infrastructure at major turning points. These markers will not be illuminated at night. The course is simple enough that runners should be familiar with the route by the time it gets dark.
One compulsory item is a head torch. Rainproof clothing is recommended because September weather can be variable, but it is not compulsory. Under Backyard Ultra rules, runners may not receive aid on course; running poles are not permitted as they count as aid. Pacers are also not allowed. The course uses public paths, so other people may be present and the race director has discretion to enforce the no aid rule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
