About the race
GV Last Man Standing is a Backyard Ultra scheduled for September 11, 2027 in Shepparton, Australia at Tom Collins Drive. Registration opens January 1, 2027. The course is mostly paved with bitumen and concrete, with short gravel sections at the lake and in the botanical gardens. The gravel is compacted with a mix of fine and coarse topping; footwear for very muddy or slippery terrain is not required.
Small laminated markers will be placed on existing infrastructure at major turning points. These markers will not be illuminated at night, and the course is described as simple and easy to learn by repetition. One item of compulsory gear is a head torch. Rainproof clothing is recommended due to variable September weather but is not compulsory.
Under Backyard Ultra rules, no aid is allowed on course. Running poles are not permitted. Pacers and other forms of on course aid are prohibited and may result in disqualification; however the course uses public paths and the presence of non competitors cannot be fully controlled.
