Event Overview
The Gus 5K is a running event held in Fredericksburg. It is inspired by GUS, the mascot of the Fredericksburg Nationals baseball team.
Distances
Participants can choose from three distances:
- 5K ($35)
- 1 Mile (13 & Up) ($30)
- Kids 1 Mile (12 and Under) ($25)
Course Details
The run starts near Virginia Credit Union Stadium at the "First Base Line." The course goes through streets in Fredericksburg and finishes on the field inside Virginia Credit Union Stadium at the "Home Plate Finish Line." Separate course maps are available for the 5K and 1 Mile routes.
Event Features
The mascot GUS is involved, providing a pre-race send-off and participating in a pre-race warmup and photos. Volunteers in baseball jerseys offer water and support along the course. After the run, there is a celebration with ballpark snacks, games, and themed medals.
