Gus 5K

The Gus 5K is a community running event centered on the Fredericksburg Nationals mascot, Gus. It offers two distances and is held in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at 42 Jackie Robinson Way near Virginia Credit Union Stadium.

The course begins at the "First Base Line" near the stadium, runs through streets of Fredericksburg with stations decorated in red, white and blue, and finishes on the field at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. On race day there are mascot activities including a pre-race warmup and photo opportunities. Volunteers in FredNats jerseys staff team spirit stops along the route, providing water, cheers and baseball-themed surprises.

Post-race features listed by the organizer include ballpark snacks, games and a Gus-themed medal ceremony. Proceeds from the event benefit the Fredericksburg Nationals Foundation and support local youth programs, education initiatives and community outreach.
