Event Concept
The Gulf Coast Beer & Bacon 5K is scheduled for a future date in Gulfport, Mississippi. All proceeds from the event benefit the nonprofit Mississippi Heroes. This organization supports caregivers, including family members and professionals like police, nurses, doctors, firefighters, military personnel, and EMTs. Funds raised are used to build wheelchair ramps for veterans, disabled individuals, and seniors in need.
Race Details
Participants are encouraged to walk in support of a caregiver or wear themed costumes, such as bacon, pig, or beer costumes. The event features a 5K race.
- 5K: Timed by DIVATIMING.
The race course starts and ends on-site at Centennial Plaza (200 E Beach Blvd, Gulfport). A course map is planned to be available via the event's Facebook page.
Registration & Awards
General registration for the timed 5K is $35 and includes a medal and t-shirt. A group discount is available, reducing the cost to $25 per person for registered groups. There is also a $10 support option for those who wish to run or walk without receiving a race number or t-shirt. Free attendance is an option for those who only want to spectate and support. Water and snacks are provided for all.
All paying participants receive a medal. Grand trophies are awarded to the Top 3 Overall male and female runners, as well as to the top winners in multiple age divisions.
