About the race
The Guardians Run is the OPP Guardians Run for Special Olympics Ontario held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Orillia. The event raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ontario athletes and includes in-person and virtual participation options.
In-person activity takes place at OPP Headquarters in Orillia. Virtual participation is available from anywhere in the province and includes shipment of race kits to virtual registrants after the event. Online registration closes the night before the event and walk-up registrations are accepted on race day.

Logistics notes include kit pickup at OPP GHQ, 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia with an earlier pickup window the day before, and an overflow parking area at 777 Memorial Avenue. A bag check will be available on site. Route maps and results are published by the organizers. The event includes a procession of the torch and local Special Olympics athletes will be present along the course.
Fundraising options include a Fundraise Only selection and the Honorary Guardian designation for every $250 donated, pledged, or raised. That $250 supports one athlete by assisting with registration fees, equipment, and uniforms; Honorary Guardians receive recognition on social media, on the website, and a thank you letter.
