Guardians Run for Special Olympics Ontario
The Guardians Run is a fundraising running event taking place on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at OPP Headquarters in Orillia. The event offers both an in person gathering at OPP GHQ and virtual participation across the province.
Distances include:
- 10 km in person
- 5 km in person
- Virtual 5 km or half marathon
Online registration is priced at $40 with an Early Bird rate of $35 available until August 1. Online registration closes on October 16 at midnight and walk up registrations are accepted on race day. Kit pickup is at OPP GHQ, 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia; participants who cannot pick up on the scheduled pre race day may collect kits at registration on the morning of the event. Virtual registrants receive their kit, including t shirt and medal, by mail after the race.
Fundraising options are available. For every $250 donated, pledged, or raised, a participant becomes an Honorary Guardian and the donation helps one Special Olympics Ontario athlete with registration fees, equipment, or uniforms. Honorary Guardians receive recognition on social media and on the event website plus a thank you letter. Local Special Olympics athletes will be present to cheer participants along the course.
