GTD - Go The Distance 5K Fun Run/Walk and Kids Dash
The third annual GTD event takes place on September 13, 2026 at Fernhill Park, 6010 NE 37th Ave, Portland, OR 97211. Go the Distance is a nonprofit organization that advocates for recovery through fitness, community, and compassion. Its stated mission is to build self esteem, establish support systems, and empower recovery one run at a time. Proceeds from this event will help empower people in early recovery and support the organization’s work with community members.
The event program includes an in person 5K fun run/walk, a free Kids’ Dash, and a virtual 5K run/walk option. Registration opens May 11, 2026. Published fees are $35 for the in person 5K, $0 for the Kids’ Dash, and $45 for the virtual 5K. Registration closing dates vary by entry type, with the virtual option closing earlier than on site entries.
Race registration includes a 2026 GTD 5k medal, a race shirt featuring sponsors, and a specially customized GTD bib. T shirt pick up and race check in are scheduled on race day at Fernhill Park.
