GTD - Go The Distance 5K Fun Run/Walk and Kids Dash
GTD Go The Distance is a nonprofit that advocates for recovery through fitness, community, and compassion. The organization describes its mission as building self-esteem, establishing support systems, and empowering recovery one run at a time. Proceeds from the event will support people in early recovery and Go the Distance’s community programs.
The event takes place on September 13, 2026, at Fernhill Park, 6010 NE 37th Avenue, Portland, OR 97211. This is the third annual GTD 5K event.

- Kids’ Dash 1K, free
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
Registration windows and fees are listed for each event: the in-person 5K and the kids’ dash open in May 2026, and the virtual 5K has a separate registration window in May and a later close date in August 2026. Published registration fees are $35 for the in-person 5K, $0 for the kids’ dash, and $45 for the virtual 5K. There is a noted prior-participant discount period that reduces the race registration fee for a limited time before a general price increase.
Registered participants for the in-person 5K receive a 2026 GTD 5K medal, a race shirt featuring sponsors, and a customized GTD bib. T-shirt pick-up and race check-in occur on race day at Fernhill Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
