Gryffe Valley Rotary 10K, 5K and kids runs 2026

The event is hosted in Houston, Renfrewshire, with routes on quiet country leisure lanes and footpaths across the Gryffe Valley area. The public park at Houston is used for the start and finish, and race-day registration and facilities are based at the West Church Halls in Houston.

Distances:

  • 10 km - lanes and footpaths between Houston, Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm
  • 5 km - a shorter route on the same network of lanes and paths
  • Kids runs - Houston Park, categories Under 7s and 7–11

Timing and licences are provided: chip-on-bib timing is used for the 5K and 10K, and the 5K and 10K races are licensed by Scottish Athletics. All finishers receive an official time and a finisher medal. Awards include overall men and women places, age-category prizes for 16–17 and under 16, first Over 60 prizes, team awards for four-person teams, and sponsored individual and team awards.

Entry details note minimum age 11, with U16 runners required to be accompanied by an adult. Online and on-the-day entry options are available with different fees for adults and younger runners. Race-day facilities include parking, changing, toilets and race numbers, and home baking with tea, coffee and water is provided in the halls after the races.
