Groundhog Day 5k and 10k at Burke Lake Park
This event takes place on February 2 at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia. The course is a newer layout at the park and is entirely paved. Points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series.

The race is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher's medal and a technical Drifit event shirt. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Live race results are posted online and a QR code at the event provides immediate result access.
There are three water stations along the 10 km course at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65. The 5 km course has one water station at about mile marker 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located near Shelter A and parking is near Shelter A and Shelter B.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in the listed age categories. T shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before January 21; additional shirts are ordered for later registrants on a first come, first served basis. Registration fees increase after January 31 and again on race morning. The organizer runs events in most weather conditions and will notify registered participants if the race is cancelled.
