Groton City Brew Run
The Groton City Brew Run is an annual event organized by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Groton Utilities. Held at Eastern Point Beach in Groton, Connecticut, the event features a combination of athletic activities and social festivities. Participants can take part in a run or walk along the coastal area, followed by a brewfest that includes music and food.
Participants have several registration options based on their interests. The event offers:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 1.5K Kids' Run (for children ages 10 and under)
The 5K event utilizes a single mass start for both runners and walkers. Those registered for the 5K receive technical shirts while supplies last, distributed based on the date of registration. For younger participants, the 1.5K Kids' Run is free of charge, though pre-registration is mandatory.
In addition to the physical activities, there is a dedicated beer garden area. Access to the beer garden can be bundled with the 5K registration or purchased separately for those who do not wish to participate in the run or walk. The event provides a community atmosphere at a beachside location combining sport and local refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
