Event Information
The Grim Reaper Running Festival takes place at Grimsthorpe Castle Estate in South Lincolnshire. The event offers several distance options run on a looped course.
Distances
Participants can choose from these solo distances:
- 10 mile Day
- 10 mile Night
- 40 miles
- 70 miles
- 100 miles
A 100-mile team relay option is also available for teams of up to five people.
Course and Format
The course consists of a 10-mile loop starting and finishing in front of Grimsthorpe Castle. The route uses grass trails through ancient woodland, limestone tracks, quiet estate roads, and a section along a disused Victorian railway line. It passes by the estate lake.
For the ultra distances (40, 70, and 100 miles), there is a 28-hour cutoff time and a mandatory kit list. The event is described as self-sufficient, with a 5-mile aid station and an area at the start/finish for participants to leave personal supplies. Free camping is included on the Friday and Saturday nights.
Awards
Trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third male and female finishers in all solo races, as well as to all members of the winning relay teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
