Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run
The Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run is an all-terrain running event that transitions from bitumen surfaces to bush trails. The event is held at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) and traverses the scenic Toohey Forest. In 2026, the event celebrates its 10th anniversary and continues its commitment to environmental sustainability by operating as a cup-less event to minimize waste.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
The 21.1 km course is supported by pace runners to help participants reach specific time goals. Due to the nature of the terrain, which includes inclines and off-road sections, the courses are not suitable for prams. All participants receive a finisher medal, and early registrants receive included event merchandise such as a race singlet or shirt.
The event serves as a fundraiser for Diabetes Australia, with a portion of every registration fee donated to support research and health services. The race precinct features water stations at the start and finish lines, as well as on-course marshals and first aid staff to assist runners throughout the forest trails.
Minimum age requirements apply for each distance: 5 years for the 5 km, 12 years for the 10 km, and 14 years for the 21.1 km. Younger participants must be accompanied by a registered adult as specified in the event guidelines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
