Toohey Trail Run
The Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run is a trail running event held at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) and through Toohey Forest. The 2026 edition marks the event's 10th anniversary and takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026.
The event features three course options:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km course
- 5 km course
The course runs from bitumen to bush and includes all-terrain sections and some inclines across university grounds and forest trails. Participants should familiarise themselves with course maps and directional signage; marshals will be positioned along the route and first aid trained staff will be on standby. Water stations are provided on course and at the start/finish area. The event operates as a cup-less event to reduce waste.
Registration details include a finisher medal and race singlet or shirt; early registrations before 1 July receive race merchandise and the first 1200 registrants receive a commemorative collapsible speed cup. Five dollars from each registration is donated to Diabetes Australia. Entry fees are non-refundable if a participant does not compete.
Age requirements apply: 5 km minimum age 5 years with under 13s accompanied by a registered adult; 10 km minimum age 12 years with under 13s accompanied; 21.1 km minimum age 14 years.
