Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run
The Griffith Sport Toohey Trail Run is an annual trail running event held in September, based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). The course moves from bitumen into bushland and runs through Toohey Forest, with multiple distance options offered.
Race entries include a finisher medal and a race singlet or shirt. The event operates as a cup-less event to reduce waste, and $5 from every registration fee is donated to Diabetes Australia as part of an ongoing partnership that has run for several years. A pace runner facility is available free to participants aiming to complete the half marathon within a target time.
Additional event elements include organised race pack collection, novelty prizes, presentations for each race, and a defined event precinct and transport map. Volunteers support race delivery, and a Griffith Sport Event Leaders program gives current students opportunities to gain event experience and practical skills.
