Greene County YMCA Triathlon
The Greene County YMCA Triathlon takes place at Sleepy Hollow Lake in Athens, NY on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event uses chip timing for all competitors and provides each registrant with a drawstring bag, a swim cap and post race food and drink.
The event format includes these distances:
- 350 yard swim
- 11.5 mile bike ride
- 5K run
If a blue green algae bloom is present in the lake, the swim will be removed and the event will become a duathlon for health safety reasons.
Registration fees differ by date and entry type. Early pre registration through August 18 is priced at $75 for an individual and $120 for a team. Late registration beginning August 19 is priced at $90 for an individual and $135 for a team.
Awards are given without duplication. Categories listed include top three overall finishers for male and female, first place non binary, first place team, and top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus.
