Greene County FISH Food Pantry Run
The Greene County FISH Food Pantry hosts its inaugural family-friendly run and walk event at Xenia Station in Xenia, Ohio. This event is organized under the name Friends In Service of Humanity (FISH) with the goal of addressing food insecurity within the local community. All proceeds from the race are allocated to the food pantry to support its mission of providing food to approximately 1200 families each month, as well as specialized services for over 130 veterans on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
The race route begins and ends at Xenia Station on South Miami Avenue. Participants who register by a specific deadline are guaranteed a race T-shirt. On the day of the event, check-in and packet pickup take place prior to the start. Following the completion of the races, organizers provide light snacks and water for participants.
Awards are presented to the fastest male and female runners in both the 5k and 10k distances. Additionally, prizes are distributed across various age group categories, including specific recognition for youth and senior participants.
