Green Monster Trail Challenge
The Green Monster Trail Challenge is a trail race organized by the Tyoga Running Club in Wellsboro, PA, set in the mountains of the Tioga State Forest north of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The event offers multiple course distances and is held on single track and other mountain trails.
- 50K: 7800 feet total ascent
- 25K: 4000 feet total ascent
- 15K: 1700 feet total ascent
The course includes steep climbs, rolling single track, frequent stream crossings, and technical descents. Aid stations are described as well maintained and are staffed by local clubs and organizations. Race day features include post-race food and beverages, music and entertainment, event T-shirts, Darn Tough socks, finisher medals, and other swag giveaways.
The event capacity is limited to 350 participants. There is no day-of registration and a wait-list is used on a first-come-first-serve basis if the field fills. The organizer posts a no-refund policy. Cut-off time limits for 50K runners were amended in 2023. Registration closes on September 27.
