Green Monster Trail Challenge
The Green Monster Trail Challenge is a trail running event on October 11, 2026 near Wellsboro, PA, in the Tioga State Forest north of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The Tyoga Running Club organizes the event and offers multiple route distances over mountain trails.
The course includes rolling single-track sections, steep climbs, stream crossings, and technical descents. Aid stations are maintained by local clubs and organizations and provide nutrition support along the course. Post-race provisions include a meal and beverages, music and entertainment, race day T-shirts, Darn Tough socks, finisher medals, and additional giveaways.
Distances and reported total ascent:
- 50K: 7800' total ascent
- 25K: 4000' total ascent
- 15K: 1700' total ascent
Entry is limited to 350 participants. In past years the field has reached capacity before online registration closed; when capacity is reached a wait-list is generated on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is no day-of registration. Cut-off time limits for 50K runners were amended as of 2023. The organizer states a no-refund policy for entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
