Green Monster Trail Challenge
The Green Monster Trail Challenge is scheduled for October 11, 2026 in Wellsboro, PA. The event is organized by the Tyoga Running Club and takes place in the Tioga State Forest north of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. It is a trail race with varied terrain that includes rolling single-track, steep climbs, frequent stream crossings, and technical descents.
Distances offered:
- 50K 7800' total ascent
- 25K 4000' total ascent
- 15K 1700' total ascent
Aid stations are described as well maintained and are staffed by local clubs and organizations. The event includes post-race food and beverages, music and entertainment, race day T-shirts, Darn Tough socks, finisher medals, and additional swag giveaways. Cut-off time limits for 50K runners have been added (as of 2023).
Online registration has set capacity limits and timing notes: race capacity is limited to 350 participants, registration closes on September 27 at 11:59 PM ET, there is no day-of registration, and a wait-list will be generated on a first-come-first-served basis when capacity is reached.
