Green Monster Trail Challenge
The Green Monster Trail Challenge is a trail running event on October 11, 2026 in Wellsboro, PA, organized by the Tyoga Running Club. The course is located in the mountains of Tioga State Forest, north of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, and follows rolling single track with steep climbs, numerous stream crossings, and technical descents.
Distances offered:
- 50K - 7800 feet total ascent
- 25K - 4000 feet total ascent
- 15K - 1700 feet total ascent
Aid stations are maintained by local clubs and volunteers. The event includes post-race food and beverages, music and entertainment, race day T-shirts, Darn Tough socks, finisher medals, and other giveaways. Cut-off time limits for 50K runners were amended in 2023; entrants should be aware of those restrictions. The event limits participation to 350 runners. Registration closes September 27 and the race historically reaches capacity before that date; a wait list is generated on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no day-of registration. The organizer states a no-refund policy for entries.
