Green Monster Trail Challenge
The Green Monster Trail Challenge is a trail running event near Wellsboro, PA, in the Tioga State Forest north of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The course uses rolling single-track trails and includes steep climbs, multiple stream crossings, and technical descents. Three distance options are offered: a 15K, a 25K and a 50K.
- 50K: 7800 feet total ascent
- 25K: 4000 feet total ascent
- 15K: 1700 feet total ascent
The event is organized by the Tyoga Running Club. Aid stations are maintained by local clubs and organizations. Race services include post-race food and beverages, music and entertainment, race-day shirts, socks, finisher medals, and other giveaways. Cut-off time limits for the 50K were added in 2023. Field capacity is limited to 350 participants; when the field is full a wait-list is generated on a first-come first-served basis.
