Event Overview
The Run Past Cancer 5k and Fun Run is a community athletic event held in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Organized by the American Cancer Society in collaboration with the Tioga Running Club, the event serves as a fundraiser to support cancer patients and local families within Tioga County. Participants gather at the Patterson Trailhead, located at 32 Fellows Avenue, to take part in outdoor activities designed for various fitness levels.
Course and Distances
The races take place on the new section of the Pine Creek Rail to Trail. This setting provides a dedicated path for both runners and walkers. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5k run
- 1 mile fun run and walk
Participation and Prizes
The event features a festive atmosphere where attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. While dressing up is optional, prizes are awarded in several categories, including Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity. Additionally, all individuals participating in either the 5k or the 1-mile event are eligible for various door prizes donated by community members.
Registration is available online or through physical forms obtainable at Wild Asaph Outfitters on Main Street. On-site registration is also offered on the morning of the event at the trailhead.

The start and finish area is situated at the Patterson Trailhead, which is located in front of the Wellsboro House and behind Pinnacle Towers.
