Run Past Cancer 5k

Run Past Cancer 5k and Fun Run

This community event in Wellsboro takes place at the Patterson Trailhead, 32 Fellows Drive, on a new section of the Pine Creek Rail Trail, in front of Wellsboro House and behind Pinnacle Towers. The event is organized by the American Cancer Society together with the Tioga Running Club to raise money and support cancer patients in Tioga County. Checks are made out to the American Cancer Society and all funds raised at the event support local cancer-related efforts.

There are two event distances and participant options:

• 5K run
• 1 mile walk/run

Registration forms for both distances are available at Wild Asaph Outfitters, 71 Main Street, Wellsboro, and on-line registration is offered. A day-of registration fee for the 1 mile walk/run is $15 with a family maximum of $30; the 5K fee is $25. Community members have donated prizes for participants. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be given in categories such as Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity.
