Run Past Cancer 5K and Fun Run
Run Past Cancer is a community fundraising event organized by the American Cancer Society in partnership with Tioga Running Club. The event raises money to support cancer patients and families in Tioga County. Locations referenced for the event include Patterson Trailhead in Mansfield and Wellsboro, PA, and registration materials are available at Wild Asaph Outfitters, 71 Main Street, Wellsboro.
Participants can choose between the following distances:
- 5K run
- 1 mile walk/run
The event accepts donations and checks made payable to the American Cancer Society. Entry fees stated in event materials include a day-of fee of $15 for the 1 mile walk/run with a family maximum of $30, and a $25 fee for the 5K. All funds raised are designated to support cancer-related services and local patients. Community contributions are part of the event, with small rewards for participants: a free small ice cream from Wellsboro Creamery for everyone who takes part, medals for top 5K finishers, and prizes for costume contest categories such as Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity.
