Run Past Cancer 5k and Fun Run
The Run Past Cancer event in Wellsboro, PA is a community fundraiser organized by the American Cancer Society with the Tioga Running Club to benefit cancer patients in Tioga County. The event uses the new section of the Pine Creek Rail to Trail and is based at Patterson Trailhead, 32 Fellows Drive, in front of Wellsboro House and behind Pinnacle Towers.
The program includes the following distances:
- 5K run
- 1 mile walk/run
Registration is available online through UltraSignup and paper registration forms for both distances can be picked up at Wild Asaph Outfitters, 71 Main Street in Wellsboro. Registration closes on October 29, 2026. Day of registration fees for the 1 mile walk/run are $15 with a family maximum of $30; the 5K entry fee is $25. Checks are made out to the American Cancer Society and all funds raised support local cancer patients.
Participants are eligible for prizes. Organizers note many donated gifts and a costume component with awards in categories such as Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity.
