Greatest 4th in the North - Lake City, MI
Greatest 4th in the North is a community running event held on July 4, 2026, in Lake City, Michigan. The event offers three distances:
- 2K Fun Run through Missaukee County Park and along the beach boardwalk
- 5K Run/Walk along Lake Missaukee and through downtown Lake City
- 10K Run/Walk along Lake Missaukee and through downtown Lake City
All proceeds go to Lake City Boosters. Registration opens February 24, 2026. Registration deadlines differ by race: the 5K and 10K registrations close June 14, 2026, while the 2K registration closes July 3, 2026. Entry fees are listed as $35 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, and $10 for the 2K.
Due to downtown construction, the race route has been adjusted from previous years and registration will not take place at the city park area. Packet pickup and registration will occur just north of Forest Area Federal Credit Union at 101 Main Street, Lake City, MI 49651. Packet pickup is scheduled for July 3, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at that location, with same-day check-in on July 4, 6:00 to 7:00 am. The organizer notes an intention to return to the usual check-in and finish area in Summer 2027.
