Greatest 4th in the North 5K, 10K & 2K
The event takes place on July 4, 2026, in Lake City, Michigan, with registration and race activity centered near 101 Main Street. Proceeds from the event are designated for Lake City Boosters.

The 5K and 10K courses follow flat routes along Lake Missaukee and pass through downtown Lake City. The 2K Fun Run passes through Missaukee County Park and along the beach boardwalk and is described as welcoming to younger participants.
Registration opens on February 24, 2026. Registration close dates differ by event: early June for the 2K and early July for the 5K and 10K. Published registration fees are $40 for the 10K, $35 for the 5K, and $10 for the 2K. Due to downtown construction, the race route has been altered from previous years and in-person registration and packet pickup will take place north of Forest Area Federal Credit Union at 101 Main Street rather than at the city park.
