Lake City Memorial Day Road Race
The Lake City Memorial Day event enters its third year in 2026. Hosted by the Lake City High School and Middle School cross country teams, the event serves as a fundraiser for the local school running programs. The races are professionally timed by Rotpac Racing and take place in downtown Lake City.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 1 Mile Road Race
- 5 km Road Race
Both courses begin and end on Canal Street, specifically in front of the Ardis Missaukee District Library. Reviewing the logistics, participants have access to bathroom facilities located inside the library lobby.
All participants receive a finisher medal upon completing their selected distance. In the 1 Mile race, the first male and female finishers receive a winner's medal. For the 5 km race, the first male and female finishers are awarded gift cards to a regional running store.
Age group medals are also awarded in the 5 km race to the top three male and female finishers in various categories, ranging from 13 and under to 70 years and up. Individuals who register by May 11 are guaranteed an event t-shirt, with additional shirts potentially available for purchase after that date.
