Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede
The event is the 47th Annual Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede, held at Wyoming Park on Third Street in Wyoming, Delaware. Parking is available along the railroad tracks; participants are asked not to park at Mike & Mel’s Restaurant.
Distances include:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 5K competitive walk
The course is USATF certified and runs mostly on paved roads through orchards and scenic countryside. Water is provided before, during, and after the race. The event is chip timed using the ChronoTrack B Chip Timing System. Short sleeve tech t-shirts and timing chips are provided; shirts are guaranteed for registrations made by July 13, 2026. Available shirt sizes include SM, MD, LG, XL, 2X.
Registration follows tiered pricing: early bird rates from Feb 17 to June 30, higher pre registration rates from July 1 to July 17, and race day pricing on July 18. The event is held rain or shine and there are no refunds or deferrals.
Awards for the 10K and 5K runs are hand carved buffalo trophies for 1st through 3rd place male and female in five year age groups from 9 & under through 80 & over. The 5K competitive walk awards the top five male and top five female finishers. A post race celebration at Wyoming Park includes results, music, and light refreshments. Brown’s Tavern will offer one complimentary beer to runners and walkers who show their bib after the race. Unregistered entrants, dogs, strollers, rollerblading, bicycling, and headphones are prohibited on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
