Great White North Half Marathon
The Great White North run takes place in Stony Plain, Alberta at the Heritage Park Pavilion on Sunday, July 5, 2026. It is part of the 33rd annual Great White North multi sport festival and accompanies triathlon, duathlon and aquaBike events.
Running distances offered:
- 5 km out and back
- 10 km one loop
- 21 km two loops
The course is described as flat and fast with paved roads and trails and a short section of packed gravel through town. Multiple passes by aid stations provide water, Coke, cups of F2C Glyco‑Durance and gels. The event expects over 1,000 athletes and spectators.
Entries include a commemorative GWN tech t shirt and finisher medal, chip timing with web results, four aid stations on course, a post race meal and a complimentary Banded Peak beer at the finish. Awards are presented to the top three men and top three women overall.
Registration fees are listed by distance with walk up registration available until the afternoon of Saturday, July 4. Official accommodation partners are noted and volunteer positions are offered in exchange for a run race credit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
