Great White North Half Marathon
The Great White North Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Heritage Park Pavilion in Stony Plain, Alberta. It is part of the 33rd annual Great White North multisport festival and shares the weekend with triathlon, duathlon and aquabike events. The race and expo are staged at the Heritage Park Pavilion and packet pick up is available the day before.
The run courses are described as flat and fast, using paved roads and trails with a short section of packed gravel. Multiple aid station passes provide on-course fuel and support. Course formats are:
- 5 km Run (Aged 10+)
- 10 km Run (Aged 10+)
- 21 km Half Marathon (aged 16+)
The event is chip timed with web results and offers four well stocked aid stations. Race nutrition includes F2C Glyco-Durance served in cups plus water, coke and gels. Participants receive a commemorative tech t-shirt and finisher medal, and a post-race meal is provided. A complimentary Banded Peak beer is available at the finish. Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall. Volunteer roles are open and can earn a free run race credit. Official accommodation partners are listed for the event.
