The 40th Annual Great Turkey 5K Run & Gobbler Walk
The event is the 40th annual family fundraiser held at Kereiakes Park on the Carl Kell fitness trail at 1220 Fairview Avenue, Bowling Green, KY 42103. It includes multiple participant options on a gravel cross-country course and supports the Bowling Green Running Club High School Athletics Program.
Distances:
- 5K competitive run with gun start and chip finish.
- 5K non-timed fun run with no awards.
- 3K Gobbler Walk along the Carl Kell fitness trail.
The competitive 5K is capped at 500 entrants. Race bibs must be visible and worn above all layers for accurate timing and photo tagging. Dogs are not allowed during the 5K run or the 3K walk. Strollers are not allowed in the competitive 5K. Only registered runners and walkers are permitted on the course.
Awards for the competitive 5K will be given in overall divisions and multiple age groups, including Overall, Overall Master, Overall Grandmaster, Overall Great Grandmaster, 14 and Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and Over.
The event serves as the sole fundraiser for the Bowling Green Running Club High School Athletics Program. Eligible high schools in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Ohio, Simpson, and Warren counties may apply for assistance. The entry fee for each listed event is $25.
