About the race
The Great Trailhead Foot Race takes place at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood, Colorado. The course uses single track and dirt trails with views near Denver's skyline. Participants can choose between the following distances: - 5 miles - 10 miles Registration includes park admission for the entire day, access to a post run party, and one finisher's meal.
The event provides food and drink items at no additional cost including hot dogs, chips, protein bars, non alcoholic beer, bananas, and other snacks. Alcoholic beer is available free to participants age 21 and over with a valid ID. Each participant receives a gender specific t shirt.
Ten mile finishers receive a finisher mug upon completion. The race start and finish are located at the Pelican Point picnic shelter at Bear Creek Lake Park. The park address is 15600 W Morrison Rd, Lakewood, CO 80228. The listed visitor center address is not the race location. The event partners with Sneakers4Good to collect gently used or new athletic shoes.
When shoes are donated, a donation is made to the event charity partner Growing Home. Entry fees cover park admission, the post run party, and one finisher meal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
