Great Trail Race
The Great Trail Race is a point-to-point sports event located between Truckee and Tahoe City, California. The event takes place in the Sierra region and offers three different modes of participation: trail running, mountain biking, or gravel biking. Participants move through a course that includes singletrack sections and natural terrain.
The event provides two distinct course options for athletes:
- Elite Course: A longer distance featuring technically challenging terrain.
- Classic Course: A route focusing on the trails between the two locations.
The event structure allows for both competitive participation, where individuals can compare times against others in their age groups, and non-competitive participation for those who prefer to set an individual pace. The course traverses the landscape between Truckee and Tahoe City, providing a direct route through the local trail systems. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
