Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon
The Great Smoky Mountains event in Townsend, Tennessee is a two day road race weekend featuring a half marathon and a 5K. The half marathon is a point to point course along the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park that finishes at the Talley Ho Inn. The half is an open course that shares the road with local traffic, is fully paved, and is supported with aid stations and course markings. The 5K follows the Townsend Historical Trail, is mostly flat with gentle rolling terrain, and starts and finishes at the Talley Ho Inn.

Race weekend includes a Friday expo and bib pickup at the Talley Ho Inn with options to pick up at the expo, on race morning, or have bibs shipped for a fee. Shuttles run from Talley Ho Inn to the start line and there is no parking at the start. The course is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
The Black Bear Double allows runners to use one bib for both races within 24 hours and earns two finisher medals plus a special Black Bear Double medal and an extra swag item. Awards include place medals for top finishers and age group place medals; every finisher receives a medal.
