Iconic City Running in Glasgow
The Great Scottish Run takes place in Glasgow, offering participants a route through the city's green spaces and historic architecture. The event features two main distances starting on St Vincent Street and concluding with a finish at Glasgow Green.
Available distances:
- 10k: Open to runners aged 15 and over.
- Half Marathon: Open to runners aged 17 and over.
The 10k course begins with an uphill section followed by 2.5km of downhill, with the remainder of the route being flat. The Half Marathon includes approximately six miles of uphill terrain in the middle section, while the final five miles consist of flat or downhill sections.
Participants pass several famous city landmarks and are supported by local crowds along the course. Music and entertainment are provided throughout the event to motivate runners. Registration includes a personalized run number with a timing chip, a finisher's medal, and an optional finisher t-shirt. Baggage buses are available near the start to transport belongings to the finish line at Glasgow Green. A dedicated tracking app allows friends and family to follow runners' progress in real-time.
