AJ Bell Great Scottish Run
The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run takes place in Glasgow, featuring routes that pass through the city's urban architecture and green spaces. The event is held annually with a city centre start and finish, drawing thousands of participants who run for personal challenges or to support various charitable causes.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 10 km: Open to runners aged 15 and older. The course begins with an uphill section, followed by 2.5 km of downhill, with the remainder of the route being flat.
- Half Marathon: Open to runners aged 17 and older. This route includes approximately six miles of uphill running in the middle section, while the final five miles consist of flat or downhill terrain.
Both distances start on St Vincent Street and conclude at Glasgow Green. The event provides a variety of on-course support, including music and entertainment. Participants receive a personalized run number with their name and a timing chip.
Upon completing the run, participants receive a medal, a finisher t-shirt, and a bag containing various items. A baggage service is provided via buses located near the start line, which transport belongings to the finish area at Glasgow Green. Digital services include a tracking app for live results and professional photography available after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
