The GRRRR Great River Road Road Race is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, in McGregor, Iowa, at Pikes Peak State Park (32264 Pikes Peak Road, McGregor, IA 52157). The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Both races are USATF-certified and sanctioned: the 5K is certification # IA 24009MF and the 10K is certification # IA 24008-M. The races are chip-timed. Registration opens February 4, 2026. The listed price for each event is $40.
Course and amenities
The course starts in the park parking lot. Runners follow Pikes Peak Road west to the Great River Road, turn south, continue to the 5K or 10K mark, and return on the same route. The course has slightly rolling hills. After the race there will be an awards presentation and a complimentary untraditional pancake breakfast.
