About the race
The Great Pumpkin Run is an annual community event hosted by Grandview Heights Parks & Recreation at Edison Intermediate / Larry Larson Middle School, 1242 Oakland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. The program includes a timed 5K run/walk through the neighborhoods of Grandview Heights on a course closed to vehicular traffic, and a separate Tiny Tot Pumpkin Trot for young children.
The Tiny Tot Pumpkin Trot is free for children aged 6 and under. The first 100 youth registrants receive an event shirt and a goody bag; organizers use registration to manage youth spots. T-shirts are available for registrants and a size guarantee is offered by October 5.
Packet pick up occurs the day before at the Parks and Recreation Department office at 1661 Goodale and on race day inside the middle school commons. Parking is available in the lot off Fairview Avenue and in the middle school parking areas; the Oakland Avenue parking lot will be closed for this edition.
Water is supplied roughly at the halfway point of the 5K course and at the finish area. Bathroom facilities will be available at the event site. Proceeds support Grandview Heights recreational and educational programs and services that serve the local community.
