Great Pumpkin Race
The Great Pumpkin Race is an annual fall running event held at St. Gregory School, 115 Pine Street, Zelienople, PA 16063. The event offers a community run and an outdoor gathering with food, prizes, and activities. Proceeds benefit the St. Gregory School Parent Teacher Organization and athletic programs.
The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run or Walk, 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Fun Run or Walk, 1 mile
The 5K is chip timed by Miles of Smiles. The course mixes flat areas and small rolling hills. Parking is available on site in the upper church lot and on surrounding streets. A new finisher medal will be awarded.
T shirt with the GPR Runnin Pumpkin logo is guaranteed for participants registered by end of day October 18. Registration fees change by date: 5K registration is listed as $25 until October 19, $30 until October 24 and $35 same day; 1 Mile registration is listed as $20 until October 19, $25 until October 24 and $35 same day. Race packets can be picked up on race day starting at 1:30 p.m.
Awards for the 5K include Top 3 Overall Male and Female and Top 3 Male and Female in age groups 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. Awards for the 1 Mile include Top 3 Overall Male and Female; Top 3 Male and Female in age groups 6 & under, 7-10, 11-14, 15-19; and Top 2 Male and Female in age groups 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
