AJ Bell Great North 10k : event overview
The AJ Bell Great North 10k is a city-centre road race in Newcastle that follows a 10 km route showcasing city landmarks and the Tyne Bridge. The course begins on Great North Road and finishes nearby on Great North Road, with an event village on the Town Moor hosting music and food vendors.
The route profile includes the first couple of kilometres downhill, a 1.5 km flat section, approximately 4.5 km of twisty uphill running, and a final flat 2 km to the finish. Entertainment features a DJ at the start and finish, music at motivation stations along the route, and spectator support through the city centre.
Race organisation and services include personalised race numbers with name and a timing chip, baggage facilities on the Town Moor, and official event day photos available to view and purchase. Race numbers with timing chips are sent out from about four weeks before the event; late or overseas entries may need to collect numbers from the information point on the Town Moor.
