AJ Bell Great North 10k : 5 July 2026
The AJ Bell Great North 10k is a city-centre 10 kilometre road race in Newcastle. The route starts and finishes on Great North Road, runs across the Tyne Bridge and passes a number of city centre landmarks. The route profile includes a short downhill in the first kilometres, about 1.5 km of flat running, approximately 4.5 km of twisty uphill sections and a final flat 2 km to the finish. The published route may be subject to change.
Race day features a start and finish area on Great North Road with a DJ set, motivation music stations along the course and crowd support through the city. An event village on the Town Moor offers post-race music and food vendors. Baggage facilities and the information point are located on the Town Moor. Race numbers with timing chips are posted 1–2 weeks before the event; last-minute or overseas entries collect numbers from the Town Moor information point.
Entries are open to runners aged 15 and over on the day. A booking fee of £3.00 is applied at checkout; listed entry prices include a standard fee of £37 and final entries at £40. Participants receive a finisher medal, the option of an official finisher t-shirt and access to event photos, app tracking, and participant discounts.
