AJ Bell Great North 10k - 5 July 2026
The AJ Bell Great North 10k is a city centre 10 km road race in Newcastle. The course starts and finishes on Great North Road and passes several city landmarks, including the Tyne Bridge. The route begins with a downhill section, followed by a 1.5 km flat stretch, then about 4.5 km of twisty, uphill running and a final flat 2 km to the finish.
Music and entertainment are provided along the course, including a DJ at the start and finish and motivation stations on the route. An event village on the Town Moor offers music and food vendors after the finish. Baggage facilities are available on the Town Moor.
Entries are open to runners aged 15 and over on the day of the event. A booking fee of £3.00 is applied at checkout. Race numbers include a timing chip and are posted out from around four weeks before the event; late or overseas entries collect numbers at the information point on the Town Moor. Waves are allocated by estimated time; runners may assemble with a later wave to move to a slower start but cannot move to an earlier one.
Finishers receive a medal, an optional finisher t shirt and a finisher bag with goodies. The free Great Run app provides event day tracking, results and photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
