AJ Bell Great North 10k
The AJ Bell Great North 10k is a city centre 10 km road race in Newcastle that starts and finishes on Great North Road. The route passes several city landmarks including the Tyne Bridge and features live entertainment with a DJ at the start and finish, music at motivation stations along the course and spectator support through the centre.
The course profile includes the first couple of kilometres downhill, a 1.5 km flat section, about 4.5 km of twisty uphill running and a final flat 2 km to the finish. Road closures are expected for the event. Baggage facilities are provided on the Town Moor and last-minute or overseas entrants may need to collect their race number at the information point there.
Entrants must be aged 15 or over on the day. A booking fee of £3.00 is applied at checkout. Entry prices shown include a standard fee of £37 and a final entry fee of £40. Race numbers contain timing chips and are posted from about four weeks before the event for most entrants.
The event offers an event village on the Town Moor with music and food vendors, an event day tracking app with results and photos, official event photos for purchase, a finisher medal, an optional finisher t-shirt and a finisher bag. Wave allocation is based on estimated time; runners may assemble with a slower wave but cannot move to a faster wave. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
