AJ Bell Great North 10k
The AJ Bell Great North 10k is a city centre road race in Newcastle covering 10 km. The route passes Newcastle landmarks including the Tyne Bridge and various city centre sights, and finishes with an event village on the Town Moor.
On-course features include a DJ set at the Great North Road start and finish areas, motivation stations with music, and other live entertainment points along the route. Crowd support is noted along the city centre sections and toward the finish. The event offers a finisher's medal and an exclusive finisher t shirt, plus official event photos and a LiveTracking app for race tracking.
Additional participant resources listed for the event include free 10k training plans, a runners' discount programme, and a 10 percent referral discount. Event merchandise is available through the organiser's shop.
The event is presented in partnership with the Newcastle United Foundation for the fourth year. As part of this partnership there is a black and white wave open to runners who wish to show their support; participants in that wave wear a special black and white striped run number.
