Great Miami Riverway Half Marathon
The Great Miami Riverway Half Marathon is an point-to-point endurance event held in Miami County, Ohio. The race begins in downtown Troy at the Miami County Courthouse on Water Street and concludes in Piqua near the Crooked Handle Brewery. The route utilizes a mix of city roads and paved bike paths to connect the two locations.
The course takes participants through Troy city roads and around Duke Park before entering the bike path on Adams Street heading north. Along the way, runners pass the Eldean Covered Bridge. The final segment exits the bike path in Piqua and follows city roads to the finish line.
Available distances include:
- 13.1 miles (Running race)
- 13.1 miles (Walking-only division)
The event includes a specialized division for walkers with an earlier start time. Walkers in this category are required to use sidewalks until the course is officially closed to vehicle traffic and fully set up. At the completion of the event, participants receive a commemorative finisher's medal.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from under 19 to 70 and over. A milestone award is available for those who have completed the race for nine consecutive years. To assist participants with the point-to-point logistics, a shuttle service operates from the finish area in Piqua back to the starting area in Troy on a rolling basis.
Long sleeve or short sleeve technical shirts in unisex sizing are provided to participants based on inventory availability. Packet pickup is available the day prior at a local running store or on the morning of the event near the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
