The Great Miami Riverway Half takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Troy and Piqua, Ohio. The event is a half marathon presented by Can’t Stop Running Company. An early start option is available for walkers; walkers who use the early start are asked to stay on sidewalks until streets are closed. Finishers receive a commemorative medal. Top three male and female overall finishers and top three male and female finishers in each age group will receive awards. Age groups are <19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. A special multi-year award is offered: runners signing up for their ninth year receive a “Completed 157.2 miles” pint glass.
Course and logistics
The course begins on Water Street near the Miami County Courthouse in Troy, travels on local roads around Duke Park, then uses the bike path on Adams Street. The route passes the Eldean Covered Bridge, exits the bike path in Piqua, and finishes near Lock 9 and Crooked Handle Brewery in Piqua. The race uses the bike path extensively; when runners must leave the path, the route will be marked. There are some road crossings with live traffic; volunteers or law enforcement will assist. Specific crossings to watch for are Lytle Road, Eldean Road after the covered bridge, and Peterson Road.
Entry, support and post-race
Packet pickup is available the day before at Can’t Stop Running Company in Piqua and on race morning near the start in Downtown Troy. Parking options include Hobart Arena and Troy City Park; many downtown streets will be closed for the race. A shuttle will transport participants from the finish area back to Downtown Troy on a rolling schedule; returning on the shuttle is not required. There are five aid stations at miles 2.7, 5.2, 7.5, 9.8, and 11.8 with water, Gatorade, and gels as noted. Restrooms are located near miles 2.8, 7.5, and 8.2. Shirts are offered in long- or short-sleeve unisex tech styles while inventory lasts. Entry fees vary by date: $60 (Jan 1–Jun 30), $70 (Jul 1–Aug 15), $80 (after Aug 15). There are no refunds; entries may be transferred to another runner. Post-race refreshments include water, Gatorade, snacks, and a complimentary beer at Crooked Handle Brewery.
