Great Langdale 21 takes place on 6 June 2026 and is organised by Lake District Sky Trails as part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend. The event is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn, LA22 9JX, in Great Langdale. The route is a technical valley run of 21 km with 850 m of ascent. Entry fee is £50.00. Minimum age is 16 on the event date. Entries open 4 October 2025 and close 27 May 2026. The maximum time allowed on course is 5 hours. Registration is managed through the SiEntries system.
Course and event features
The course starts and finishes at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn and follows marked trails and footpaths through Great and Little Langdale. Key route features include steep and technical paths under Raven Crag, a drop to the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub, ascent via Mickleden, crossings of Great Langdale Beck and Oxendale Beck, trails past Red Tarn and Pike O'Blisco, the 3 Shires Stone, a short road section on Wrynose Pass, Fell Foot Bridge, the back of Little Langdale Tarn, and a return along The Cumbria Way to the Stickle Barn.
The event provides a manned checkpoint, fully marked trails, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal, and a vegan salty soup option.
