Event details
The Great Langdale 21 is a trail race on Saturday 6 June 2026, organised by Lake District Sky Trails and scheduled as part of the Rab Scafell Skyrunning Weekend. The event is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn (LA22 9JX). The race distance is 21 km with 850 m of ascent. The maximum time allowed on course is 5 hours. Entry age is 16 or older and the entry fee is £50. Entries open 4 October 2025 and close 27 May 2026.
Route and event support
The route starts and finishes at Stickle Barn and follows marked trails through Great and Little Langdale. The course includes steep technical paths and trail sections that pass landmarks such as Raven Crag, the Old Dungeon Ghyll pub, Mickleden, Red Tarn, Pike O'Blisco and the 3 Shires Stone, plus a short road section on Wrynose Pass and sections of the Cumbria Way. The event provides fully marked trails, a manned checkpoint, a recycled paper mache wild flower seed bomb medal and vegan salty soup at the finish.
