The event includes two distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile untimed kids fun run
Course and Location
The event takes place in Traverse City, Michigan. Both races start and end at Eastern Elementary School, located at 1600 Eastern Ave.
The 5K course is described as flat and fast. It passes an aid station around the one-mile mark and runs past the shore of East Bay before looping back to the finish.
The untimed kids 1 mile fun run is an out-and-back course on the sidewalk along Eastern Avenue.
Event Details
The event supports the Great Lakes Cancer Foundation, which aims to remove financial barriers for cancer screenings and diagnostic services.
Free parking is available at Traverse City Central High School (1150 Milliken Dr). Participants walk from there past tennis courts to reach the start/finish area at Eastern Elementary.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race morning near the start line.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to standout performers in multiple age groups for both men and women.
A post-race celebration includes snacks, drinks, and booths from local vendors. Strollers, dogs, and children are welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
