Event Overview
The AEPG Great Eastern Run is organized by Good Running Events and takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Peterborough. The event is a major fixture in the UK running calendar and aims to raise money for various causes.
Races
The event features two main races:
- A Half Marathon for participants aged 17 and over.
- The Anna's Hope 5K Fun Run.
Both races start and finish at the Embankment in Peterborough City Centre. The Event Village opens for registration.
Course Details
The route is described as super flat and fast, taking runners around Peterborough City Centre and the surrounding area on fully closed roads. The race is chip-timed for both distances, and a bespoke medal is given to all finishers.
Race Day Information
There are five water stations on the Half Marathon course, with cups of water available. A bottle of water is provided at the finish line with a goody bag. For the 5K, water is only available at the finish. Medical teams are present on-site.
In-ear headphones are banned for safety; only bone-conducting headphones are permitted so runners can hear marshal instructions. The organizers emphasize wearing appropriate footwear as the routes are fully road-based.
Logistics
Ample parking is available around Peterborough City Centre. The organizers accept no responsibility for vehicles or baggage, but details on baggage facilities will be confirmed in a pre-race email sent about a week before the event. Photos and video will be taken and shared post-event.
Policies
Refunds are not available, but entry transfers to another runner are possible via the event website until September 27, 2026. After this date, race numbers cannot be transferred. The Half Marathon has a cutoff time of 3 hours 30 minutes, and the 5K has a cutoff of 1 hour. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
