Great Cape May Footrace
The Great Cape May Footrace returns for its 44th year in Cape May, New Jersey. The event features a single distance for participants:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
The course utilizes a route through the coastal environment of Cape May, with the start and finish lines located at the intersection of Decatur Street and Beach Ave. All participants are required to maintain a minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile throughout the race.
The event requires online registration in advance, as there is no registration available on the day of the race. Registered runners can pick up their race packets on the morning of the event at Carney's on Beach Ave, situated between Jackson and Decatur.
Free parking is available at all meters in the vicinity of the start and finish area until noon. However, meters on the Washington Street Mall remain free only until 10:00 AM.
Awards are presented to the first, second, and third place overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top three finishers in several age groups are recognized, ranging from 14 and under up to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
