Event details
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run takes place in Bristol on 10 May 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 10k
- Half marathon
Entries are open to runners aged 15+ for the 10k and 17+ for the half marathon on the day of the event. Entry prices shown include saver and standard categories: 10k saver £37, 10k standard £42; half marathon saver £47, half marathon standard £52. Race numbers with timing chips are posted to most entrants about 1-2 weeks before the event; late or overseas entries are required to collect their number from the information point.
Course and facilities
Both races start and finish on Anchor Road. The route is described as relatively flat and passes rivers, green spaces, Castle Park and urban landmarks, including areas with graffiti murals. A downloadable course map is available and organisers operate a programme of road closures and phased reopenings on event day. Baggage buses are located near the start in the Lloyds Amphitheatre; runners must attach the baggage label from their race number to their bag. Waves are allocated by estimated time; runners may assemble with a slower wave but cannot move to a faster wave.
Services and extras
An event day app provides runner tracking, results and official photos. Finishers receive a medal, a finishers t-shirt and a finisher’s bag. Runners may opt out of a finisher tee in which case organisers will make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal, with a committed donation target of approximately £20,000. Free 10k and half marathon training plans and fundraising support are provided. Various charities, including Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK, are associated with the event.
