Event overview
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run takes place on 10 May 2026 in Bristol. The event offers two distances:
- 10k
- Half marathon
Entries are open and the organiser lists saver and standard prices for each distance. The 10k entry is open to runners aged 15 and over on the day; the half marathon is open to runners aged 17 and over. The organiser states the event has sold out in a recent year.
Course and logistics
Both the 10k and half marathon start and finish on Anchor Road. The route is described as relatively flat and passes rivers, green spaces, Castle Park, and urban landmarks. There will be a rolling programme of road closures on event day, beginning from Anchor Road and reopening in phases; all roads are expected to be reopened by 17:00. Baggage buses will be located close to the start in the Lloyds Amphitheatre. Race numbers containing timing chips are normally posted 1-2 weeks before the event; late or overseas entries after the listed deadline must collect their number from the information point.
Race features and services
The event offers a free event day tracking app for live tracking, results and photos. Waves are allocated by estimated time; runners may move to a slower wave by assembling with a later wave but cannot move to a faster wave. Optional finisher tees are available; if a runner forgoes a tee the organiser will make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal, with a stated commitment of approximately £20,000. Finishers receive an event medal, a finisher t-shirt and a finisher’s bag. Free 10k and half marathon training plans are available from the organiser.
