The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is a road running event in Bristol offering two race distances and related event services. The event features both a 10k and a half marathon, with age limits of 15+ for the 10k and 17+ for the half marathon on the day. The courses take in the city’s rivers, green spaces and urban landmarks, including Castle Park, and are described as relatively flat. A recent route update reversed the direction of both courses to provide a different perspective of the city. Participants start on Colston Avenue and finish on Anchor Road.
Event services include baggage buses located near the start, a race number that contains a timing chip (typically posted about four weeks before the event, with collection options for late or overseas entries), and phased road closures with sections reopened once clear. Runners receive an event medal, an optional finishers t-shirt, and a finisher’s bag.
