AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, 9 May 2027
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is a city running event in Bristol offering two distances: a 10k and a half marathon. Entries for 2027 are open and saver price options are listed for both distances.
The courses take in rivers, green spaces and urban landmarks, including Castle Park and notable graffiti murals. The route is described as relatively flat and in 2026 was run in the opposite direction to recent years, providing a different perspective on the city. Entertainment and music are provided along the course and runners receive a personalised race number.
Practical details include a start on Colston Avenue and a finish on Anchor Road. Organisers operate a rolling programme of road closures on event day and baggage buses are available near the start. Race numbers containing timing chips are usually posted about four weeks before the event; late or overseas entries must collect numbers from an information point. Wave allocation is based on estimated time and participants may assemble with a slower wave but cannot move to a faster wave.
Event services available on event day include a free tracking app with results and split times, official event photos, a medal and an optional finisher t shirt plus a finisher bag. The event supports many charities and lists Alzheimer’s Society as the AJ Bell Great Run Series official charity. Free training plans and event support are provided in the lead up to the race.
