The 6th Annual Great American Triathlon

The Great American Triathlon is a multisport event held along the American River Parkway in Sacramento. Following a historic route, the competition features three distinct stages that explore the local landscape of Rancho Cordova and the surrounding area.

The course consists of three disciplines:

  • 5.95-mile run
  • 12.5-mile bike ride
  • 6.10-mile paddle

Participants can choose from several registration categories. Individual competitors may enter as an Ironperson in either adult or junior (18 and under) divisions. Relay options are also available for those who wish to complete the event as a team. These include duo relays for two people, adult relays for three members, and junior relays for teams of two or three. A tandem watercraft relay is also offered for four-person teams.

The event supports the American River Parkway Foundation through fundraising efforts. All finishers receive a commemorative medal upon completing the course. Participants are required to select a specific t-shirt size during registration, as sizes are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is held the day before the main competition at River Bend Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
