Event information
The 5th Annual Great American Bacon Race: Tampa is a bacon-themed 5k walk/run held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Al Lopez Park in Tampa, FL 33614. Entry for the 5k is listed at $34, with the price scheduled to increase after December 31, 2025. The event includes digital timing for all runners and awards or prizes based on time and age group. Additional prizes are planned for the biggest team and best costume. Finish-line offerings include free bacon, and all finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a race T-shirt. The event is followed by a Bacon Bash after-party with music, food trucks, vendors, and additional free bacon. A portion of the entry fee is designated to support efforts to fight bullying and hate in schools.
Packet pickup and race kit
Pre-race packet pickup is available at Fit2Run Tampa, located at 2223 N Westshore Blvd, Space B230, Tampa, FL 33607. Participants are strongly advised to pick up packets in advance to avoid lines on race morning. Runners must bring a photo ID or passport and their confirmation email with the QR code to receive a bib. A friend or family member may pick up a packet on behalf of a participant if provided with a picture of the participant’s ID and the confirmation email with QR code. The timing chip is attached to the back of the bib and should not be removed. Wearing the bib is required to record race time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
