Great Allegheny Ohiopyle Race Festival
The Great Allegheny Ohiopyle Race Festival takes place in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, offering a variety of distances on a surface of hard-packed trail topped with crushed limestone. The event is held rain or shine, with the start and finish lines located at the same site.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
- Combo 5K & 10K
The marathon course is a certified Boston Marathon Qualifier and consists of two loops of the half marathon route. Both the 5K and 10K are out-and-back courses, with turnaround points at 1.55 miles and 3.1 miles respectively. Aid stations providing water and electrolyte drinks are positioned approximately every two miles along the route.
The event features a course closure time of 2:00 PM, allowing marathon participants up to 7.5 hours for completion. An early start option is available for marathon and half marathon participants who require additional time. Amenities for all registrants include a t-shirt, finisher medal, and running socks. First-time finishers of the marathon, half marathon, or the combo platter receive a commemorative plaque.
