Event Overview
The Stone Villa Wine Run 5k is an annual event taking place on the grounds of Stone Villa Wine Cellars in Acme, Pennsylvania. The winery is situated on 150 acres in the foothills of the Laurel Highlands. Registration for the 5k is open to participants aged 1 to 99, with a discounted rate for ages 1 to 20. The main event start time is listed as 9:00 AM.
Course & Participation
The course is an out-and-back route that runs entirely on roads, starting and finishing at the winery. The event organizers note that "there may be a hill or two." The race is professionally timed by J3 Timing, with results posted online. Walking is explicitly allowed, and the event is dog-friendly, though dogs must be leashed and are not permitted inside the winery building. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground on the course; children in strollers can participate for free and do not need to register.
Registration & Details
Standard registration includes a t-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip-timed race bib, online results, and a pour of wine. Participants under 21 receive a discounted registration that includes the shirt, medal, and bib, but not the wine glass or wine pour. The event also offers a virtual participation option. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each 10-year category.
Charity & Logistics
The event helps raise funds for the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department. Packet pick-up occurs only on race day morning, beginning one hour before the start. Free race photos are made available for download. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
