GRC Summer 5k Series 2026
The GRC Summer 5k Series is a nine-week running series held in June and July 2026. Sessions take place on Thursdays from June 4 through July 30 and meet at Back Forty Beer Company in Gadsden, Alabama. Each session uses a marked 5K route through downtown Gadsden and the historic district; the course is marked on the road with bright colored duct tape.
The course is not closed to traffic, and participants should be aware of their surroundings while on the route. Registration for the series opens May 11 and closes May 23; there is no registration fee for the series.
There is an option to purchase a series shirt or a ladies tank top; both garments are offered in sweat-wicking material. The deadline to order a shirt is May 22, and no extra shirts will be ordered after that date. Once the shirts arrive, they will be made available on the Thursday of the week they are received.
The series is open to all ages and paces, and it accommodates both running and walking participants. Membership in GRC is not required to take part in the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
