Event Overview
The Grayslake Chamber of Commerce Race is the 35th annual edition of this community event. It takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in downtown Grayslake, Illinois, at the intersection of Center Street and Seymour Avenue.
Distances
The event features two distances:
- A 5K (3.1 miles) run and walk.
- A Kids Fun Run for ages 5–8, which is a 2-block run.
Course & Logistics
The 5K course winds through the heart of downtown Grayslake. The start and finish line is on Center Street. The event uses professional chip timing for all 5K finishers. Race packets can be picked up at the Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce office on the lower level of Grayslake Village Hall in the days leading up to the event.
Awards & Amenities
Awards are presented to the top three overall male, female, and wheelchair finishers. Age group awards are given in multiple divisions. The first 300 pre-registered participants receive a guaranteed race shirt. All participants receive post-race refreshments. Kids Fun Run participants also get a shirt and a participation ribbon. Proceeds from the event benefit student scholarships at local high schools. Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, and pets are not allowed.
Registration
Registration is available. Pricing for the 5K follows an early bird rate until June 30, with a higher rate from June 30 through the event. A separate fee applies for the Kids Fun Run.
