Grayslake Family 5K Race and Fun Run
The Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the 35th annual Family 5K Race and Kids Fun Run on July 11, 2026 at Center Street and Seymour Avenue in Grayslake, Illinois. Proceeds benefit student scholarships at local high schools.
The event includes a timed 5K with professional ChampionChip timing and a separate kids fun run for younger participants. Race shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 pre-registered participants. Post-race refreshments are provided for participants. The course runs through downtown Grayslake, is clearly marked, and is supported by volunteers and local spectators. The start and finish are located on Center Street in downtown Grayslake.
Distances:
- 5K run and walk, 3.1 miles
- Kids Fun Run, ages 5 to 8, two block distance
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each category, with overall awards for male, female, wheelchair male, and wheelchair female. Age group awards are given for a wide range of divisions from 9 and under through 80 and over.
Packet pickup locations are the Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce at the lower level of Grayslake Village Hall and Fleet Feet Libertyville. Packet pickup dates and times are listed for July 8, July 9, and July 10. In-person registration is available during packet pickup hours and on race day for a posted race day fee. Registration fees are non-refundable. Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, and pets are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
