About the race
The Graveyard Gallop 5K is a community running event held at Coldstream Park in Lexington, Kentucky on October 30, 2026. The main in-person offering is a chip-timed 5K (3.1 miles) on a paved trail; a virtual 3.1-mile option is available for participants who run or walk remotely and receive a commemorative race shirt by mail for the listed fee.
The race permits strollers and dogs on fixed-length leashes. Awards are given to top finishers overall and in age-group divisions, and there is a prize for best costume as an optional component. Organized packet pickup will be available at the event.
Volunteer roles are part of the event plan; volunteers work a multi-hour shift and receive a race shirt for helping. The organizer lists commemorative shirts for participants, free event photos, social team activities with a prize for the largest team, and on-site music.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Western Pennsylvania Search and Rescue Development Center Bluegrass Division, an organization that expanded into the Lexington area in 2025 to support at-risk and vulnerable populations and to provide community emergency response services.
