Grasmere Gallop

Grasmere Gallop is a set of waymarked trail races held at Grasmere Showground as part of the Lake District Running Festival on Saturday 5 June 2027. The event takes place on off-road trails around the Grasmere area.

Distances offered include:

5.7 km - family-friendly; under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
10 km - trail race; a 10 km Nordic Walk option is available.
17 km - longer trail distance on local paths and trails.
Marathon - full marathon option.

All festival races have free photography and finish line cake. There is an option to purchase race medals and T-shirts. Full competitor notes will be provided closer to the event.

Entries are paid per person and must be completed in advance; there are no entries on the day for these races. Separate children’s events are held on the same day: a Teddy Dash for under 5s and a 1 km Kids Fun Run for ages 5 to 12, both with on-the-day registration available.
