About the race
Grasmere Gallop is a 42km fully way-marked trail race in the Lake District, looping Grasmere and surrounding valleys such as Alcock Tarn, Loughrigg summit, Rydal Caves, Great Langdale, and Easedale Tarn. It features about 1,905 metres (roughly 6,250 feet) of ascent, offering a dramatic Lakeland day out with varied terrain. The route includes drinks stations at about miles 4 and 11, plus a checkpoint at mile 17, and entrants receive tracker hire so supporters can follow progress.
Finish rewards include a Langdale slate medal and cake. A mandatory kit list is required, and the course is fully marked for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
