Grapes of Wrath Triathlon
The Grapes of Wrath event on 04/25/2027 is a multi-discipline race weekend at Lake Woollomes, near Delano, California. The venue is listed at 32750 Woollomes Ave, three miles southeast of Delano. Lake Woollomes is a 300-acre reservoir with about four miles of shoreline, a boat dock and a launch ramp. Swimming is allowed and motorized boats are restricted to non-powered craft such as sailboats, SUPs, and kayaks.
The event program includes several in-person and virtual options covering swimming, biking, running, and combined formats. Distances and formats include:
- Sprint Triathlon - 800 yd swim, 10.75 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- Olympic Triathlon - 1600 yd swim, 21.5 mi bike, 6.2 mi run
- Sprint Duathlon - 3.1 mi run, 10.75 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- Sprint Aquathlon - 800 yd swim, 3.1 mi run
- Sprint Aquabike - 800 yd swim, 10.75 mi bike
- Olympic Aquabike - 1600 yd swim, 21.5 mi bike
- 10K Run - 10K road run
- 5K Run - 5K road run
- Virtual Triathlon - 800 yd swim, 10.5 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- Virtual Duathlon - 3.1 mi run, 10.5 mi bike, 3.1 mi run
- Virtual Aquathlon - 800 yd swim, 3.1 mi run
- Virtual 5K - 5K run
- Virtual 10K - 10K run
- Sprint Triathlon Relay - team relay entry
- Olympic Triathlon Relay - team relay entry
Each registered athlete receives event items and post-race provisions including a custom t-shirt, athlete goody bag, swim cap, finisher's medal, a post-race meal, Rosa Brother's Chocolate Milk, and free race photos. Raffle prizes and awards are offered three-deep in each division. A USAT membership is required for triathlon entries and is not required for the 5K or 10K.
