About the Event
The SHAY 5K Run/Walk is a community event organized by the non-profit Spreading Help Around You. It takes place on a Saturday in November. The event started as an annual 5k held on Thanksgiving morning to honor the memory of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar. It has since moved to the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Event Details
The single distance offered is a 5K run/walk. The event is timed, with age group awards. The first 100 participants receive a custom finisher's medal. Participants are encouraged to join or create a team. A special registration rate is automatically applied for children aged 10 and under.
Location and Logistics
The event starts and finishes at La Vina Middle School in Delano, California. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event at the Delano Chamber of Commerce. Late packet pickup and registration are available on event day.
Participant Amenities
