OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon
The OhioHealth Grandview Yard Half & Quarter Marathon and Purple Heart 5K is an annual running event held in Grandview Heights, Ohio. The race features a start and finish line located at Ray E. DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard. The course takes participants through several areas including Grandview Heights, Marble Cliff, Upper Arlington, and the campus of The Ohio State University.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 6.55 miles (Quarter Marathon)
- 3.1 miles (Purple Heart 5K)
The half marathon course is fully supported for a duration of 3 hours and 45 minutes, which corresponds to a pace of 17 minutes and 10 seconds per mile. For safety and logistical reasons, participants in the 13.1 miles event who do not reach the 8.9-mile mark within the required pace will be re-routed to an 11-mile course. All finishers, including those who are re-routed, receive an official finisher's medal.
Registered participants receive an event short-sleeve shirt, an official race bib, and access to race photography. The post-race celebration at the Byers Xtra Mile Finish Line Party includes various refreshments such as pizza, bagels, and assorted beverages. Additionally, finishers are eligible for complimentary medal engraving at a local jeweler in Dublin, Ohio. The event permits the use of strollers, though pets are not allowed on the course.
