Grand Rapids Zombie Dash 5K
The event is a Halloween themed evening running event in downtown Grand Rapids with multiple participation options. The main event is a 5K run/walk that follows a course through downtown and past Monroe skate park at 555 Monroe Ave NW. The course includes designated feeding zones where costumed zombie actors try to take runners' life strips or flags. Overall and age group awards are given.

Paid 5K entries include a custom shirt and a custom bib. Finishers receive a finisher medal and age group winners receive prizes. A kids mile runs along the river path with trick or treat stations where participants stop to collect treats; that mile is non-competitive. A separate zombie registration is available for people who will act as zombies rather than run; zombies are asked to create a frightening but safe environment, avoid physical contact, and may attempt to retrieve life strips from runners. Zombies receive a free shirt and post race refreshments. Race day arrangements include packet pick-up, zombie check-in, a pre-race meeting at Sixth Street Bridge Park, and post-race awards.
