Grafton Run for the Roses
The event takes place at Grafton Lakes State Park, 100 Grafton Lakes State Park Way, Grafton, NY 12082. It includes two running events:
- 5K Race
- 1 Mile Kids Run
The 5K course follows the Park Entrance Road, continues along Route 2, rounds the Town Park and returns on Long Pond Road. The first half of the course is downhill and the second half has uphill sections. Water stations are located near the halfway point. Mile markers and split times will be available and the race finishes under the Race Banner. Awards for the 5K are given in these age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Registration opens 2/26/2026 and closes 8/8/2026. Registration fee is $30.00.
The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run begins in the main parking lot, proceeds through the woods and along the beach, and finishes under the Race Banner. Ribbons and books will be awarded to all runners and walkers. A time clock will be running at the finish line. Registration opens 2/26/2026 and closes 8/7/2026. Registration fee is $12.00.
Awards are presented at the finish line immediately following the race. Refreshments are provided and showers are located near the finish line. The park offers beach and picnic facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
