Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Kansas City
Gourdy's Pumpkin Run in Kansas City takes place on September 12, 2026, with the event hub at HyVee Arena. The main distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and the course moves from the arena into the West Bottoms, passing old brick warehouses and wide industrial streets.
The route offers open sightlines and a generally flat, fast feel. At the finish line participants are offered crisp apple cider and the opportunity for a finisher medal photo. Results will be posted shortly after the race concludes. The official Participant Guide is scheduled to be posted about one week before race day.
Registration uses tiered pricing: January 2–18 $39, January 19–July 12 $44, July 13–August 2 $49, August 3–30 $54, and August 31–September 12 $59. Team registration is available; the first team member creates the team and team members save $5 on registration even when they sign up individually.
Packet pick-up is available the evening before at the arena or on race morning. Waves are assigned by expected pace, with Wave A as an example for paces of 8:30 per mile and under, and Wave F and Wave G reserved for walkers. Parking is in nearby garages, surface lots, and meters. Volunteers receive a choice of a free race registration or a donation to Girls on the Run plus an exclusive volunteer shirt and beanie.
