Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Kansas City
Gourdy's Pumpkin Run takes place on September 12, 2026, at Ilus Davis Park, 1000 Locust St., Kansas City, MO 64106. The event is organized as a community 5K covering about 3.1 miles through downtown Kansas City neighborhoods, beginning at Ilus Davis Park and returning to the finish area for post-race refreshments.
The course is described as having open sightlines and a flat, fast feel. Participants are offered a finisher medal and may enjoy crisp apple cider and a photo opportunity at the finish. The official Participant Guide will be posted roughly one week before race day.
Registration is tiered by date with the following prices: $39, $44, $49, $54, and $59; these prices include platform and processing fees. Early registration helps guarantee hoodie sizes and wave selection before capacity or price changes. Team registration is available; team members save $5 each and the first registrant creates the team and team password.
Walkers are welcome and represent about one third of participants. Two dedicated walker waves are provided: Wave F for solo walkers and Wave G for groups walking together. Wave assignments are selected during registration based on expected pace; Wave A is designated for runners maintaining about an 8:30 per mile pace or faster.
Packet pick-up is available the night before at the park or on race morning. Parking is in nearby garages, surface lots, and meters. Volunteers receive options such as a free race registration or a donation to Girls on the Run, plus an exclusive volunteer shirt and beanie.
